Alief-Westwood Action Plan
The Alief-Westwood Complete Communities Action Plan is online! The Action Plan outlines the vision, policies, goals and projects that have been identified by stakeholders over a six-month planning process that included three large public meetings and an examination of twelve local community plans and studies. Over 670 leaders, stakeholders, and partners attended the public meetings, and provided valuable input and guidance. The goals and projects work toward a vision of a healthier, more resilient, prosperous, and equitable future for the community.

Since 2019, meetings have been held with stakeholders in Alief and Westwood communities to identify programs and projects needed to make the communities complete. From safety, housing, education, economy and jobs, mobility and infrastructure, health, community leadership and advocacy, parks and neighborhood character, the Alief and Westwood communities spoke out, and we’re listening. Questions, comments, concerns, and recommendations have formed the draft Alief/Westwood Complete Communities Action Plan. The latest draft is provided below and divided into sections.

landNeighborhood Profile
Alief is a large ethnically diverse community on Houston’s far southwest side of Beltway 8. Most of the area is in Alief ISD, although a portion extends into Fort Bend County and is serviced by Fort Bend ISD. Alief is a collection of medium-sized subdivisions with moderately priced homes and large affordably priced apartment and condominium complexes.

The area’s diversity is reflected in the stores found in shopping centers lining the area’s major thoroughfares.
